 The Lindsay Story Begins

It all started with young brothers – Peter and Tom Lindsay.

Lindsay Transport is more than just a leading transport company. It is a nationally recognised Australian icon, with its signature red vehicles around Australia easily identifiable by the iconic red cabin and white stripes. 

The Lindsay Brothers, Peter and Tom, began their transport business off the back of three old trucks purchased by their father, Victor Lindsay. Many hardships were endured, and obstacles overcome and as the family grew so did the business, setting the stage for strong Lindsay traditions.

In 2002, Lindsay Australia was born and began merging all three businesses to form an integrated supply chain and a full circle solution to industry needs, and who was responsible for the change? – our Lindsay People.

Lindsay Australia’s divisions were led by exceptional teams, dedicated to the pursuit of excellence and their standards imbedded into the company culture.

Our people are armed with a clear vision of growing the business through the acquisition of small strategically-placed companies, advances in safety and compliance and the development of our specialised Human Resource team – SPC (Safety, People & Culture).

Lindsay Australia’s modern era of growth and expansion began in earnest when its people led the company’s 2002 listing on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX).

Moving more than two million pallets of freight, over fifty-five million kilometres every year, the Lindsay name comes out of small towns, regional centres and into the cities.  Having helped grow the food, and transport harvest nationwide we protect and move the most valuable freight there is:  the food that feeds our nation.
